Hola... para mi ha sido de mucha ayuda para mis hijos Ahlia-Isaac pues se han beneficiado mucho con sus tareas planear mejor su aprendizaje, tener a una persona como Elena que está al pendiente cómo van en clase con el idioma que ellos necesitan y mejorar en este nuevo sistema de aprendizaje es difícil para los padres y estudiantes. Se ven más tranquilos con ayuda y apoyo de este programa de EstudiAmigos.
Hello... for me it has been very helpful for my children, Ahlia-Isaac, because they have benefited a lot with their homework, planning their learning better, having a person like Elena who is aware of how they are doing in class with the language they need and improving in this new learning system which is difficult for parents and students. They are calmer with the help and support of this EstudiAmigos program.

Being a tutor through Study Buddies has given me the opportunity to help alleviate some of the pressure put on the students and their families who have to do school from home. I have been tutoring Emiliano mostly on fourth grade math, and I have gained more confidence in the way I work with him. Through our weekly sessions I have been able to observe his strengths and weaknesses and found strategies that seem to be most effective for his learning. I have truly enjoyed working with Emiliano and giving him extra support in math. I hope to continue working with Emiliano and strengthen our connection and continue exploring different learning strategies so that he is able to have a good understanding of the topics he is learning in class.

I have been tutoring through the Study Buddies program for a few months now. I enjoy the opportunity to meet, spend time with, and support someone who needs help with their homework. It's both challenging and rewarding. Sometimes I struggle, given the limitations of Zoom and social distancing. But it's great when I see that he understands and learns the material. I feel like I've formed a strong connection with my student and I think he looks forward to my help and the time we spend together. I hope the program can continue and expand because I know there are many more students out there who could use help, even in the best of times, but particularly now, when the pandemic prevents a normal learning environment.

Tapping into the skills, and the willingness to help of community members, and matching them up with students for whom the COVID era restrictions create even bigger barriers to learning than already existed, just makes good sense. Through Study Buddies I think I’m making a small difference for this young man. Elena and Liora have supported me with good communication with the student's family, and with constructive suggestions related to being an effective tutor.
